Mini documentary/final project:​​​​​​​The Magical Christmas Village and Market at Mountain Lake Lodge
Project Requirements: With your beat partner, produce a 5-7-minute piece of video journalism. Beat topics are encouraged but not required. ​​​ Examine a story in-depth with significant development using the narrative arc (Freytag's pyramid). Don't just tell the facts of the story; show who is impacted and how.
For my final journalism project, my beat partner and I covered the Magical Christmas Village and Market at Mountain Lake Lodge. Our beat was culture and the arts, and this project highlighted a famous resort in the New River Valley and showed how the community comes together during Christmas. 
Video story 3: Inside the MAGA Economy
Project Requirements: 5-7 minute one-on-one interview on your beat with your beat partner. The subject of the interview should be a newsworthy figure in your beat, AND/OR a person in a newsworthy situation on your beat, AND/OR a person with expertise on some specific area/issue on your beat.
Offering a unique perspective on politics, we interviewed Jo Anne Price, the owner of the Christiansburg Trump store. A long-time supporter of Donald Trump and an active member of the Republican Party, Price decided to open a business that would serve as a hub for like-minded community members to gather and express their political ideas. She shares her motivation behind opening the store and her beliefs about Donald Trum
Digital Newsroom Online Video 1: Oktoberfest In The New River Valley
Project Requirements: 2:20-2:30 long B-roll, SOTs, natural sound, voiceover, intro (10-15 seconds) & tag(5-10 seconds) standups. No bridge standups Narrative arc (Freytag pyramid) – character-driven storytelling! At least two sources, at least three soundbites (SOTs). G 
For my first Digital News Room Online assignment, I covered Oktoberfest at Eastern Divide and how Blacksburg celebrates this traditional German Holiday. 
Final Project- The Gobblers 
 Project Requirements: A newsworthy for the VT/Blacksburg/NRV community. Voiceover and natural sound. Standard outcue at the end. S. 3:30-4:00 total AT LEAST three sources AT LEAST five soundbites Bridge standup relevant and meaningful to the story Voiceover and natural sound​
For my Advanced Multimedia Reporting class, I covered the Gobblers pre-show, an award show for the student-athletes at Virginia Tech.​​​​​​
Explainer Package- Renovations in War Memorial 
Assignment details: Explain a concept, issue, process, or complex idea within the New River Valley Area. 60 to 70 seconds long. Video format 1080 x 1080. 
Renovations in War Memorial: I had the opportunity to speak with Kyle LeDuc the associate director of operations for Recreational Sports, to learn more about the behind-the-sce of the renovations and an estimate of when War Memorial should open.


Advanced Package- Commonwealth Clash VT vs UVA

Assignment Details:PKGs will be 1:35-1:45 minutes long and include at least three soundbites + one standup, at least three sources SOTs should be :10-:15 seconds, standups should be :10-:15 seconds. Cover something newsworthy in the Blacksburg, VT, or NRV community. Demonstrate ability to gather information and package it in useful, understandable form. Begin working on on-camera performance skills​​​​​​​
